Description

Aquila salami (Salame Abruzzese classico) is a historical product of Sorrentino's company, as well as one of the first salumi made by Nonno Marino. Today it represents the flagship of our range.

This typical salume, originally from the Aquila area, is now produced throughout the Abruzzo region and also imitated in the rest of Italy. Until the 1960s, production was only homemade. Today, however, machinery is used; often even by the same families who have been handing down the secrets of making this specialty for centuries. The origins can probably be traced back to the Goth and Lombard shepherds who settled in our mountains several centuries ago.

The typical flat shape, fully denervated selected meats and natural casing make it an article of excellence that we export all over the world.

Together with a very fine grind and a sweet, unmistakable taste, it has become our best-selling Salami.

The current recipe faithfully reflects what is the tradition of this product. We have left the doses and ingredients of Grandfather Marino's first recipe unchanged to offer our consumers a consistently good product.

Our Salame Aquila (Salame Abruzzese classico) was the winner of "Premio Qualità Abruzzo" as best salami, Red Award at Merano Wine Festival and Best Salami at Glutenfree Expo in Rimini.
