Salame Aquila (Salame Abruzzese Classico): a historic product of the Sorrentino company and one of the first salumi made by Nonno Marino. It represents the flagship of our range of cured meats.
This typical cured meat, originally from L'Aquila, is currently produced throughout the Abruzzo region and also imitated in the rest of Italy. Until the 1960s, production was exclusively homemade; today we use modern machinery, while maintaining the traditions and processing secrets passed down through generations. Its origins date back to the Gothic and Lombard shepherds who settled in our mountains.
With its typical flat shape, fully denervated selected meats and natural casing, Aquila Salami is a product of excellence that we export all over the world. The very fine mincing and sweet, unmistakable taste make it our best-selling salami.
The current recipe keeps intact the traditional dosages and ingredients of Nonno Marino, ensuring a consistently good product.
Salame Aquila has won prestigious awards, including the "Abruzzo Quality Award" for Best Salami, the Red Award at the Merano Wine Festival and the title of Best Salami at the Glutenfree Expo in Rimini.
