Aquila Salami (Classic Abruzzo Salami): a historic product from the Sorrentino company and one of the first cured meats made by Grandpa Marino. It is the jewel in the crown of our cured meat range.
This typical cured meat, originating from the Aquila area, is currently produced throughout the Abruzzo region and is also imitated across Italy. Until the 1960s, production was exclusively homemade; today, we use modern machinery while maintaining the traditions and secrets of the craft passed down through generations. Its origins date back to the Gothic and Lombard shepherds who settled in our mountains.
With its typical flat shape, completely denerved selected meats, and natural casing, Salame Aquila is an excellent product that we export worldwide. The fine grinding and the sweet, unmistakable flavor make it our best-selling salame.
The current recipe keeps the same proportions and ingredients from Grandpa Marino’s tradition, ensuring a consistently good product.
Salame Aquila has received prestigious recognition, including the "Abruzzo Quality Award" as the best salame, the Red Award at the Merano Wine Festival, and the title of Best Salame at the Glutenfree Expo in Rimini.
